Qatar is a Peninsula with 11,437 SQ Kilometres area, located half way down the west cost of Arabian Gulf . The country is centrally placed among the states of other GCC states, Saudi Arabia , Kuwait , Bahrain and UAE.

The official language of the Qatar is Arabic. Other languages widely spoken are English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tagalog & Farsi.

The Qatar currency is QAR; Qatari Riyal which is pegged to the US dollar at an exchange Rate USD 1.00 = 3.65 QAR approx

The capital of Qatar is Doha which geographically located in middle of east cost.

The Doha International Airport is the only international airport in Qatar however also the central hub of fastest growing Qatar Airways. The airport handling agent at Doha airport is known as Qatar Aviation Services Company which is also a subsidiary of Qatar Airways.

Qatar has only one commercial port which is Doha and other two ports are Masaieed and Ras Laffan. Ras Laffan Port is about 100 km towards north and Masaieed port is 35 km to south from Doha city.

In addition to customs duty, Legalisation charges are mandatory. All Import documents have to be attested by Qatari consulate at origin or this can be done at Qatar as per the published tariff. The Qatar has uniform customs duty tariff which normally for all cargoes except cigarettes & alcohol are 5% of the CIF value as assessed by customs authorities.
